My parents, Robert W.Jr, (grandson of Nathan ) and Maybelle Phillips, are from Forest County and McKean County, Pa. All my elder siblings were born in Pa but I was born in Indiana. I grew up in Buffalo, NY and after High School served in the Air Force from 1945 -1947, in the Army of Occupation. During my tour in Europe, I saw the bombed out buildings, Utah Beach before it was cleaned up and was able to visit a military cemetery and place flowers on my brother's grave; he was killed in the invasion of Normandy. Following my discharge, I worked as a chemist, tech service rep and then sales selling laboratory equipment. Married in 1948, attended college nights on the GI Bill - degree in 1960. Now retired, living in Rochester, NY -- three children, five grandchildren and three (soon to be four) great grandchildren. In process of tracing my geneology, I have enjoyed e mail correspondence with several cousins (descendants of Nathan as well ) whom I never knew existed. I was told that my gr.gr. grandfather ( Nathaniel ) was married to a Native American, which would make me 1/16 Indian. I thought it would be interesting to verify that, even tho the benefits of that heritage have expired.

I am attempting to trace my geneology back to my gr.gr. grandfather, Nathaniel Burdick, who I am told was married to a Native American.

Nathaniel would have been born ca1800, and his son, Nathan, was born 1827 in Frewsburg, NY. I have the family tree from Nathan to recent but have been unable to verify any records of Nathaniel. I willl be glad to furnish what information I have of my branch of the family tree, and have in the process found several distant cousins I did not know existed.
