From the Morley Library, in Painesville, Ohio, the index of the Probate Court records lists the April 13, 1853 marriage of Joseph Benedict to Ellen Burdick.

The Michigan 1870 census, lists Ellen in Columbus, MI as 37 years old. (census errors).
