Religious History of Rhode Island

Deborah Burdick was a descendant of 3 of the 6 people who founded the Seventh Day Baptist Church. Her mother and maternal grandparents were an important part of the religious history of Rhode Island.

Crandall in Appendix V. SAMUEL HUBBARD: Samuel Hubbard and his wife, Tase Cooper, had the first white child, Ruth, born in Springfield, Massachusetts. Ruth married Robert Burdick and became the mother of all BURDICKs. Her sister, Rachel married Andrew Langworthy and became the mother of all LANGWORTHYs:
Deborah Burdick , Dau. of Robert and Ruth, married Rev. Joseph Crandall, son of Elder John. To this marriage was born Joseph who married his second cousin Ann Langworthy, Dau. of Andrew and Rachel Langworthy. According to Dr. Langworthy, Samuel Hubbard was a very important man especially in the religious history of Rhode Island. He and six others, one his wife, and one his Dau, Rachel Langworthy, founded the Seventh Day Baptist Church, Dec 23, 2671.
