John A. Burgess, son of John Burgess and Mary Sanford, was born at Newport, Hants, Nova Scotia 15 Jul. 1777.[1] He died at Kempt, Hants, Nova Scotia 17 Sep 1827.[2]
John Burgess and Ann Card married in 1804 in Hants, Nova Scotia, Canada. Ann was a widow at the time.[3][4] The marriage bond was dated 15 (sic) Sep 1804.[2]NOTE: This is not Anna Card, daughter of Job Card and Frances Wilcox, who married Barzillai Harvie.
Benjamin Burgess was recorded as being in Newport, Nova Scotia on December 30, 1772.[5] Benjamin's sons Edward Burgess and John Burgess were recorded at Newport, Nova Scotia on September 5, 1781.[6]
