Biography

The birth of Sary Burges is recorded among the records of All Hallow's Parish as the daughter of Edward & Sary Burgess, but the date is missing. She was born around 1690 and was baptized with several of her siblings on 13 NOV 1698. Her marriage to Benjamin Gaither on 8 SEP 1709 is recorded in the same parish. ^[1]

On Tuesday the 14th Instant, died, in Anne Arundel County, Mrs. Sarah Gaither, Relict of Mr. Benjamin Gaither, formerly of the same County, in the 79th Year of her Age. a Gentlewoman endowed with many good Qualities, and who performed the various Stations of Life with an unblemished Character, having been a faithful Wife, a kind and indulgent Parent, a humane Mistress, a kind Neighbour, benevolent Friend, and to her own Sex, an agreeable Companion.
