Biography

Hector was the son of Ellen Tavendale and Harry Burgess and one of 5 children.

He worked as a Labourer in the 1930's at Totaratahi. Hector enlisted WWII in 1941 at Dunedin - serial no 16887, rank Private with the Infantry Reinforcements. During the 1940's he worked as a Gardener at the Oamaru Public Gardens. In the 1950's he and Linda moved to Enfield where he worked as a Farmer.

Hector died in 1985, age 71 and was buried at Oamaru Old Cemetery on May 6*. ASH BEAM 3 PLOT 5.^[1]
