Nancy Burgess was born in 1775 to Edward Burgess and Nancy Ann Francis in the British Colony of Virginia on the eve of the Revolutionary War[1]. She married James Elliott Stewart in Montgomery County, Virginia on June 7, 1798[2]. They moved to the state of Kentucky with their family where they were listed as living in Lawrence County[3]. She was widowed in 1835. I could not find her in the 1840 census, but I did in the 1850 census.[4].
Nancy died on January 1, 1852 in Lawrence County, and is buried in the Buchanan Chapel Cemetery in Zelda, Lawrence County, Kentucky, USA[5].
