John Middleton Burgess was born about 1810 in Norwich. He was the son of John Burgess and Elizabeth Middleton. He was baptised on 2 Sep 1810 in St. Margaret's, Norwich, Norfolk, England.[1]
He married Lydia Taylor on 11 Oct 1838 in St. George-Tombland, Norwich, Norfolk, England[2]
They had two children:

Ellen Burgess
1845 – 1926
Lydia died in 1848.
He then married Marianne Judith Bassey on 3 Apr 1851 in Norwich, Norfolk, England. He was working with Marianne in St Margarets, Norwich, Norfolk.[3] In the 1851 census. I believe he was a butler.[4] Son John Burgess was with them.
Marianne died in 1856 and he then married Lucy Clark in 1858 in Norwich.[5]
They went on to have the following children:

The 1861 census shows them living in Starston, Norfolk with son "herbert". His occupation now is a postman.[6]
They then moved to Diss in Norfolk and in 1871 they are living in Shelfhanger Lane, Diss. His occupation is Butler.[7]
They are found in Mount Street, Diss in the 1881 census. He is now a retired butler.[8]
He passed away on 25 Apr 1889 in Diss, Norfolk. [9]
