Elizabeth was born in 1800 in Rowan, North Carolina. She was the daughter of Thomas Burgess and Mary Hunter. She married David Bradford. They had 4 children (per census records), 2 daughters and 2 sons.
She had moved to Tennessee and settled in Putnam County. It was here she remained throughout her life and where she passed away in 1882. She is buried at West Cemetery.

- Mary b. 1824 - d. 1902 m. Jordan Fleming Huddleston, 8 children
- Nancy Margaret b. 1827 - d. 1905 m. James William Hunter, 5 children
- Thomas b. abt 1834 m. Margaret Mason, 2 known children
- John R b. 1837 - d. 1898 m. Matilda McWharter, 3 known children
