Ethel was born April 25, 1914, in Franklin County, Iowa, the daughter of Robert Burgess and Nora Hoskinson. The family farmed in Iowa and Minnesota. In 1915, they lived in Morgan Township, Franklin County, Iowa.[1] In 1920, the family lived in Morgan Township, Franklin County, Iowa.[2] In 1925, they lived in Ramsey, Kossuth County, Iowa.[3] By 1930, they had moved to Cashel Township, Swift County, Minnesota.[4]
Ethel married Lynn Espeseth June 15, 1935, in Augustana Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls, Minnehaha County, South Dakota.[5] They lived in Benson, Swift County, Minnesota.[6] In 1937, they were living in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where Lynn was a cabinet maker.[7] In 1940, the family lived in Torning Township, Swift County, Minnesota. Lynn was a farmer.[8] They had six children.
Ethel passed away May 15, 1991.[9] She is buried in Benson Cemetery, Benson, Swift County, Minnesota.[10]
