The identity of Theoderich's second wife is unclear. While she's probably the daughter of Sigismond, King of Burgundy (d. 524), and (perhaps) Ostrogotha (Arevagni) of the Ostrogoths,[1][2] Gregory of Tours did not record her name. It's possible that "Suavegotha," was the name of a previous wife.[3]

However, Cawley (2006), seems fairly certain that Sigismund of Burgundy did have a daughter named Suavegotha. While Gregory of Tours, does not identify the mother, chronology indicates that it's Ostrogotha. Sigismund's second wife, and her children, were murdered and are unknown.[4]

The parents listed for this individual are speculative and may not be based on sound genealogical research. Sources to prove or disprove this ancestry are needed. Please contact the Profile Manager or leave information on the bulletin board.
