Elizabeth Dewitt Rogers born Burhans is my great grandmother. I was told of her by my grandmother, Daisy Elnora Rogers. Elizabeth married William Rogers and their son, my grandfather Willard Dewitt Rogers married my grandmother Daisy. One of Willard and Daisy's daughters was named, Ruby Elizabeth Rogers after her grandmother Elizabeth.

The marriage of my grandparents, Daisy and Willard, was an arrangement made between their parents, Elizabeth and William Rogers and Daisy's mother, Cynthia Faeh. I guess that was somewhat common in those times partly due to the hard economics. His parent were "well off" and hers were not.

Unfortunately this was not a marriage based on love and it ended in a divorce.
