Mrs. King professed faith in Chrits(sic), joined the Baptist chruch and was Baptized when she was 20 years old. She ws a daughter of Wm. Burk, having six brothers and five sisters, was married to W.R. King July 29, 1874. To this union was born eight children, six girls and two boys, all are married but youngest girl and youngest boy. The children are Mrs. H C. Holder, Mrs. J. L. Smith, Mrs. A. L. North, Mrs. Charlie Colquet, Miss Liddie, Horace and Herbert King, all of Sweetwater and Mrs. Arlie Roberts, of Galveston Tex. Mrs. King was a devoted mother, always looking carefully after the welfare of her children. The husband has lost his bosom companion, the children a loving mother, friends an honest and industrious neighbor. What she suffered none can tell, but in her last hours she had grown so gentle and kind and spoke to her children and asked thom(sic) to let her fly away. But I say to her children, be comforted we can not stay the Hand of God for He doeth all things well. Funeral services were held from the First Baptist church by Rev. E. A. Cox, assisted by Rev. H. C. Pardue. The body was laid to rest in West View cemetery to await the resurection morn. A precious one from us haye gone, the voice they miss it, still a place is vacant in the home which never can be filled. A Friend.
