She married John Newsham on 18 January 1846 at Saint Giles in the Fields, Holborn, London, London, England [1] and their children were Alice Dorcas (Newsham) MacKenzie, Emma Augusta (Newsham) Small, Helena Frances Newsham, John Edmund Burke Newsham, Arthur Henry Newsham, Sydney Alexander Newsham, Frederick Harold Newsham, Florence Edith (Newsham) Small, Alfred Herbert small and Charles Ernest Newsham.
Dorcas passed away on 23 June 1896 in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia [2][3] and she was buried in the Bathurst Cemetery, Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia [4].

↑Obituary:Bathurst Free Press and Mining Journal (NSW: 1851 - 1904) Tue 23 Jun 1896 Page 2 Local and General: Demise. — Mrs. Dorcas Newsham, widow of the late Mr. John Newsham, died at the Telegraph Office this morning at the age of seventy years. Mrs. Newsham has been living with her daughter, Mrs. K. A. H. McKenzie, for the past twelve months and her death was not altogether unexpected, as she has been ailing for some time. Mrs. Newsham leaves several children and a number of grandchildren, and in addition to Mrs. McKenzie, wife of Mr. McKenzie, Telegraph Master, and an unmarried daughter, there are Mr. J. E. P. Newsham, sub manager of A.U.S.N. Steam Co., Brisbane; two sons in West Australia, and a married daughter and family in Melbourne.
