Patrick Burke married Mary Higgins in Sugarloaf, New South Wales during 1855.[1]
Patrick was a carrier and died when he tripped and fell in front of his bullock wagon on the Gunnedah - Coonabarabran Road and was crush when it could not pull up in time. He was taken to Tamworth for treatment but did not recover. [2][3][4][5]
Research Notes
The attached 1892 death certificate for Patrick Bourke has the same parents name but is not the death referenced above. It may match the marriage as Sugarloaf is much nearer Morpeth than Tamworth however the death certificate shows a different wife.
