David's first wife was Mary ____ - they had one child together: Glenda. David's second wife was Karen Marinas Andersen (married 1946) - they had two children together: (twins) James Powell Burke & John Holland Burke in September 1951. David is the son of William Henry Burke & Lou Della Spell (1884). David held many jobs in his lifetime including: Insurance Salesman, Studebaker car salesman, Boiler maker for WWII tugboats and Long Shore-man (cleaned tanker boats), Lafayette Sheriff 8 yrs, Taxi cab owner/driver, Pig farmer, working rice fields, steel mill welder, Brown & Toule Hot Shot Service (trucking company), oil fields, shrimper. David is one of 7 siblings: Lenox, Felix, Florence, Vera, Junior, & Thelma. David had many health issues resulting in a stroke at age 57 then died of a brain aneurysm at at 59.
