Brenda Marie (Burkett) Burton Young at a tender young age of 61 years, 7 months, and 20 days went to join our Lord in Heaven and her family on Friday, April 20, 2012 at her home in Burnside, Kentucky. Funeral services were held Monday, April 23, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Steven Young officiating. Burial followed in the Cooper Creek Cemetery.

She was born in Somerset, Kentucky in the year of our Lord on August 31, 1950 to the late Lewis Lovell and Opal (Smith) Burkett. Brenda loved hiking in the woods, camping, and fishing. She also enjoyed her yard work and her flower garden.

Preceding her in death is her father, mother, 4 brothers, a sister, a brother-in-law, and 2 sister-in-laws.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Andrew Young of 21 years and 11 months of Cooper Creek, Kentucky; 7 children, Connie and Virgil Bray, Lisa and Toby Crabtree, Penny Burton and significant other, Gary Evans, all of Somerset, Kentucky, Raymond and Amy Burton of Nancy, Kentucky, Jerry Young of Somerset, Kentucky, Robert Allen and Misty Young of Bronston, Kentucky, and Jeffrey and significant other, Alta McKee of Burnside, Kentucky; 3 sisters, Lovey Janice and Jurgan Jones, Beatrice Burkett and significant other, Steve Caudill, and Jewell Walters of Somerset, Kentucky; 4 sister-in-laws, Nadine and Porter Jones of Burnside, Kentucky, Marty and Vic Aloisio Bonita of Springs, Florida, Ruth Slaughter and significant other, Leonard Matherly of Nancy, Kentucky, and Dorthy Young of Burnside, Kentucky; 3 brother-in-laws, Joe and Bernice Young of Burnside, Kentucky, Floyd and Becky Young of Science Hill, Kentucky, and Floyd Lewis of Greenwood, Kentucky; 27 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She loved her family, friends, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all her friends. She is our blessed angel in Heaven. We all miss her and lover her. She is gone, but will never be forgotten.
