Though I have been doing family research for 12 years had not found WiKi! Your sheet on William Burks Sr. is very good and matches what I have been able to find over the years. I am still unable to put him up for SAR and DAR membership as I have for my direct ancestor because of one item. You show William served in the 7th Virginia regiment which makes the most sense to me however due to many William Burk/s in Virginia at that era that were serving in the Patriot army I am unable to prove via any documents that this William Burks in the 7th is this William Burks that was the son of Richard Burks and father of Elisha Burks. I have proofs up through Elisha b.1773 but the SAR and DAR are very, very specific. What data to you have that would help? Many thanks!
Burke-957 and Burks-370 appear to represent the same person because: These two profiles appear to be the same person only the correct spelling of the last name should be Burks . They have the same dates and locations. Find A Grave Memorial# 5993405 shows Burks married to Lurena "Lenora" Harris (also set for a merge with the wife of William Burke).
