Ann (Burnap) Jones immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).
Ann Burnap was baptized at Great Amwell, Hertfordshire, England on April 15, 1632, daughter of Robert and Ann (Miller) Burnap, who were of Roxbury about 1640 and later of Reading, Massachusetts. [1][2]
Ann married first by about 1652/3, John Wight, an original settler of Medfied and son of Thomas and Alice Wight. He is only mentioned in Dedham records in 1652, when his father transferred land at Dedham, to 'sonne John.' [3][1][2]
John Wight died on Sept. 28, 1653 [4] and administration of his estate went to his wife Anne and their unborn child. [3][5]
John's estate in 1652, was valued at L88, but by his death a year later, the value was L171 2s 9 d. It is presumed that the increase in estate value was related to his marriage to Ann.[3]
Widow Ann Wight married Isaac Bullard, son of William, on April 11, 1655, at Dedham, Massachusetts. [6][7][1][2][8]
On September 1. 1688, Robert Burnap Sr. with consent of wife Ann, Robert Jr. with consent of wife Sarah, Thomas Burnap with consent of wife Mary, Sarah Burnap spinster, Isaac Bullard with consent of wife Ann, lands in Salem to Elias Parkman. [Essex Deeds, Vol. 3: p. 47] [2]
Isaac Bullard was a witness to Ann's uncle Thomas Waterman's will written on Nov. 11, 1670 and testified to that in addition to verifying the estate inventory on April 28, 1676. [Probate Rec. Suffolk County Docket :774: Vol. 6: p 117][1]
In the will of Ann's aunt Margaret (Miller) Waterman, written May 19, 1670, she made her 'cousins' Isaac Bullard and Robert Burnet (sic (Burnap), Ann's brother, executors and further indicated that if she die prior to her husband Thomas Waterman, that her cousin Bullard, keep care of Thomas and have the rents of the land and cattle. [1]
Margaret's estate was inventoried in March 1682/3, and she bequeathed her house land, situated in Roxbury, to to her 'cousin' Anne Bullard; and L5 to Ann Bullard's eldest daughter Abigail Wight. [1]
Isaac Bullard died at Dedham on [11:8: 76] Oct. 11, 1676. [7][2][8]
On April 27, 1683, widow Ann Bullard was granted to be Administratrix to Margaret Waterman's estate. [Probate Rec. Suffolk County: Misc Docket: Vol. 6: p. 415] [Misc Docket: Vol. 9: p. 124] [1]
Ann married third, David Jones Sr. at Dorchester, Massachusetts on March 18, 1685. [9][1][2]
In his will written Nov. 15, 1688, Robert Burnap of Reading , Massachusetts, left a bequest to daughter Ann Joones(sic), among others. (p. 4) [10][2]
Ann, wife of David Jones died at Dorchester on March 16, 1692/3. [9]
Her husband David died there on September 27, 1694, age about 66 years. [9]
