James Burnett (1820 - 1898)

I do try to do lots of "laterals and downs" research on my Ancestry tree. It brings in lots of DNA Matches. Right now I'm trying to find my Burnetts of VA, GA, & AL in the 3-book series: Burnetts and Their Connections by June Baldwin Bork. Just got them and am learning how to find people in them.

He is Randall Gore, son of Claude Eugene Gore, son of Thomas Perry Gore, son of (...0 Gore and Carrie Burnett > etc.....

James Burnett and wife Martha Collins are on my direct line. They had 12 known children. I am descended from their 2nd child, Louis Oliver Burnett, 1843-1910. I have found a DNA Match with a descendant from their 7th child: Cassady/Carrie/Caroline Burnett, b.Mar 1855 in AL, married (unknown) Gore. This (3C1XR to me) cousin Match has the surname Gore. This daughter is in the family home on the 1870 Census, Chestnut Creek, Baker, AL, as Burnet, Cassady, age 17. The challenge is the 1860 Census where the family was split up on two diff communities. Parents in Lower Yellow Leaf, Shelby, AL, page 182, begins on Line 37, Dwelling 1223, Family 1223. The other 6 children in Montevallo, Shelby, AL, page 157, Dwelling 1041, Family 1041. Caroline age 8. Took a LOT of browsing to find this mess.
