My Great grandfather we George Foster Burridge (B) 1841. His wife was Matilda Bowles (B) 1852 in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. They had at least 5 children to my knowledge. Ellen Sophie (B) 1873, Georgina (B) 1875, *Louisa Matilda (B) 1878, Charles John (B) 1880 and Emma Maria (B) 1881 (Emma is my grandmother)

You have Matilda down as Matilda Burnett but I’m almost certain her maiden name was Bowles and wonder if her middle name was Burnett. This certainly sounds like the same family. I have proof of the name Bowles from family details and census. Would love any comments...regards Gail

Hello, this definitely seems to be the same family. Matilda married a Stephen Bowles after George Foster Burridge passed away. Her maiden name was definitely Burnett as it is listed as such on the birth registrations of all of her children.
