Biography

Willy was born in 1840 in Virginia, the daughter of Henry & Nancy Bennett.

She married (1) Thomas Overby in 1858.[1]. He died during the Civil War, in 1862.

She married (2) Jacob Pike in 1864.[2] She had a little girl, Fannie, from her first marriage. By 1900 she is widowed again.[3] In 1910 she is living with her daughter Ida in Wythe County, Virginia. She remained there until her death.[4]

Willy passed away in 1922.[5] She was buried at Farmer Cemetery, Pulaski, Pulaski County, Virginia. [6]

  1. Headstone dates differ from the death certificate. Headstone has dod as 5 Jan. and death certificate has 6 Jan. Headstone gives year of birth as 1841 but death certificate says 1840. I am using death certificate dates here.
  2. Marriage certificate says Overly and Milly - no original to view

believe it should be Overby based on 1850 census - I believe the error started there and was perpetuated
