Biography

Lady Poynter. After the death of her husband, she became in succession a house decorator, journalist, and magazine editor, but after losing her money in a poor investment, she went bankrupt in 1935.

How did she manage for the last 20 or so years of her life, after being "bankrupt.?
I trust you know about that sister in Downton Abbey series on PBS in US,and before that in England and the world, who followed the same path as Dame Cherr Margaret Poynter (nee Burnett). Writers of all kinds still have a hard time making it on the income from writing even today. Since I've followed that path too, I am well aware.
