Note: This profile is being reviewed. It appears to be based on, directly or indirectly, the information from June Bork's book The Burnetts, which is missing an entire generation of children for this couple. Please see Research Notes for known errors, a research paper, DNA information.

John and Lucretia Burnett had 3 sons as detailed in her will. The project has primary sourced paperwork back to John and Lucretia for testers from 2 of the 3 sons John II and Thomas plus YDNA testers from Charles line without paperwork back to their son Charles.
In the image section there is a detailed research paper named Thomas Jr did not write this will his son Thomas II did in which it details the children of Thomas and Jane Lucas Powell. YDNA has shown there were paternity issues with one of Thomas' children.
Thomas lived in Essex County VA on the border of King and Queen County which was a county that suffered great records loss. No will for Thomas naming his children has been located. However, there are records that show who his children were, and that information is detailed in the research paper in the images section.
Of the 3 sons who have been identified: Thomas II who died in 1749 and left a will has testers who have YDNA connected back to John and Lucretia.
There is no primary source information that Thomas was ever in Surry County VA. All of his records are in either Essex County VA or King and Queen County. Thomas was a minister in Surry County, Virginia, in 1702.
"English Duplicates of Lost Virginia Records": Thomas Burnett, Jr. owned 130 acres in Essex County, Virginia, in 1704.
"Virginia Tax Records": Thomas Burnett, Jr. (d. 1749 ?)
Thomas Burnett Jr (abt.1675-bef.1752) is often conflated with his son Thomas Burnett II (abt.1700-aft.1749).
Specifically, the Will written in Essex County, Virginia, in 1749, which is attributed to this Thomas Burnett Jr by June Bork, was really the Will of his son, Thomas Burnett.
Note: Records with ** at the end of a sentence do not belong to this Thomas Jr.
"English Duplicates of Lost Virginia Records": **
"Virginia Tax Records":
Occupation: Merchant. **
This family is documented in "The Burnetts and Their Connections." Much of the information in this book has been proven to be false. See the image files for information on Thomas' family.
This family is being extensively researched by the FTDNA Project Des of John and Lucretia Burnett of Essex County VA.

[PMP/PPP was actually added in January. Just catching up on adding this comment.]
If his father was John, and not another Thomas, which other Thomas was in the area at the same time so that this Thomas needed to be referred to as "Jr"?
