Biography
Robert BURNS was born in 1889 in Ford, Northumberland, England, son of Hugh BURNS and Jane (HORSEBURGH) BURNS. [1]
He appeared in the following census years -
- 1891 at Henlaw, Chatton, Northumberland, England.[2]
- 1901 at Hepscott Moor, Hepscott, Northumberland, England.[3]
- 1911 at West Field Cottages, Buckworth, Northumberland, England where he was an agricultural labourer.[4]
Research Notes
The Robert BURNS who married Eleanor THIRLWELL according to th 1921 census[5] and the 1939 register[6] was born on 21 June 1890 in Durham. Their marriage took place in 1912.[7] Although no births of Robert Burns being born in Durham are found in the GRO, their are several other candidates who are more likely to be the spouse of Eleanor.
