Biography

Elizabeth made her will on 6 Mar 1865. It reads: I, Elizabeth Lewis of the County of Mason and State of Illinois do make and publish this my last will and testament in manor and form as follows to wit: I hereby constitute and appoint A.G. Fisher to be my executor for this my last will and testament revoking and annulling all former wills by me made and ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. It is my will that the said A.G. Fisher shall as soon after my death as possible sell all of my property both real and personal and dispose of the proceeds as follows to wit:

1st pay my funeral expenses and all my just debts.

2nd Divide equally the money to my heirs as follows to wit: Azariah Lewis, Anna Franchen, Mary Elmore, Lucinda Parker, John Lewis, William Lewis, George Lewis, Almira Jarret Pipkin, the heirs of my daughter Susan, the heirs of my daughter Catharine, the heirs of my son Levi, the heirs of my son Landen.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 6th day of March A.D. 1865.
