Note: From Wikipedia, Boone County, WV: The county was formed in 1847 with territories annexed from Kanawha, Cabell, and Logan counties. Ergo, the people in that area may have felt that they belonged to two counties. i.e. Boone and Cabell, as the transitions took place. I was unable to identify a community called Mud River. The people who lived in that area may have called their community by that name, but officially, it didn't stick until 2021. That I can find.
