Hugh Burns place of birth or date is unknown at this time.

He married Annie Gill. They had a daughter, Eleanor Burns, in 1831 in Nova Scotia, Canada. His daughter Eleanor married Jacob Ettinger in Feb 1853.

He passed away in 1861 and is buried in the Saint Peters Anglican Church Cemetery in Upper Kennetcook, Hants County, Nova Scotia, Canada.[1]
