Peter Joseph Burns was born on 8 Apr 1845 in Aghowle, County Wicklow, Ireland, his father, John Burns and his mother, Mariah Fox He married Margaret Florence Cloney (1855–1931) on 24 Apr 1878, in Charlotte, New Brunswick, Canada. He died on 10 Dec 1920 in Gorham, Coos, New Hampshire and was buried in Holy Family Cemetery, Gorham, Coos County, New Hampshire.
