Biography
Thomas was born in 1827 in Ireland
In 1851 he was living with parents John and Margaret Burns and 5 siblings at Albion in Peel County, Canada West.[1]
By 1861 he had married Frances and was farming at Collingwood, Grey County, Ontario and residing in a one-storey frame house. No marriage record located, however given the age of their two children, John (4) and Edward (2), likely occurred around 1856.[2] They would remain in the same area and by 1881 had 10 children at home.[3]
He died at the age of 75 and was buried at Gordon Cemetery.[4]
