Biography

NOTE: At this time, the only record indicating Hannah's last name is the marriage license application which indicates Burr or Barr. The following records are from 1830 and 1840 Census with names similar using locations in proximity to Hartford, Trumbull County, Ohio and also Geauga County. Per Hannah's son's death record, it states that Hannah was born in Hartford, but it could be that her family moved from Geauga County to Hartford, Trumbull County following her marriage in 1848, as she and Harvey are residing there in 1850. If this is the case, then Orin may have been raised thinking that this is where Hannah was born, when in fact, she may have been born in Geauga County.

Another possibility is that since Harvey and Hannah married in Geauga County, when he was clearly from Trumbull county, it is possible that they eloped and were married without parental consent. They were both of legal age, per the license...he being at least twenty-one, she being at least nineteen.

Or another theory. Hannah did live in Geauga County at the time of their marriage, moving to Trumbull county after the marriage to Harvey.

• There is a Henry Bear living in Hartford, Trumbull County, Ohio in 1830 with 2 females age 5-9...In 1840 Henry Bear has 1 female 15-19

• Heman Burr, Johnston, Trumbull County, 1 female 5-9 1830

• Charles Burr/Burn Madison, Geauga with female 5-9 1830

• Amon Burr, Johnston, Trumbull County, 1840 1 female 15-19

• Linus Burr 1840 Hartford, 1 female 15-19

• There is a James Berry, Fowler Ohio with 1 female 15-19 in 1840

Census records for Hannah indicate that her father was born in Connecticut and her mother was born in Ohio^[1]
