Obituary.
Mrs. Ann Greenfield, mother of Mrs John Jones, of the Peninsula, died on Saturday last, at the advanced age of 82 years. The deceased lived for many years at Pitt Town, and was held in the very highest respect. For the past seven years she had been living with her daughter, Mrs J Jones, and it was there that the good old lady passed away. We understand that Mrs W J Kelly, of Richmond, Mrs James Knott, of Richmond, and Mrs F Bowman, late of Windsor, were sisters of deceased, and Mrs James Wilbow, of Pitt Town, a daughter. A son, Mr James Greenfield, resides at Pitt Town, whilst Sergeant Wright, of Bathurst, is also a son of deceased. The late Mrs Greenfield had been an invalid for twelve months prior to her demise, during which times, and the whole of the time she lived with her daughter (Mrs Jones) she was attentively looked after. The funeral took place on Sunday after noon, and notwithstanding the fact that the interment was at Pitt Town, a fairly large number of prominent Windsor residents followed the remains to their last resting-place. On arrival at Pitt Town, the procession was considerably augmented. The Rev W S Newton, M.A., conducted the burial service, and Mr W J Chandler, of Windsor, carried out the funeral arrangements.
She is buried at Pitt Town Cemetery, Pitt Town, New South Wales (photo reads, Ann, aged 81 years, died 9 - 5 - 1900) (Also buried there is son James & his wife & 2 daughters) [10]
