In 1847, Alexander is cited as the reputed father of an illegitimate child. His father of the same name having died the year before, the younger Alexander must be the Alexander Burridge of Bere Knap meant. [2]
In 1851, he is with his widowed mother, Martha, and his niece Louisa, born ca 1848.
Alexander emigrated, by 1850, with his brother Robert Burridge, to Utica, New York, where they kept a tavern. (See attached image.)
In 1855, Alexander is in the census in Utica with wife Caroline. [3]
In 1865, Alexander is in the census in Utica with his wife Caroline and brother-in-law, Frederick Bewsher. [4]
“By a warranty deed dated July 1, 1870, one Alexander Burridge, a naturalized citizen of the United States and a resident of Utica, purchased a certain parcel of real estate in the city of Utica, which is the real property involved in this action. Said Burridge died in November, 1874, intestate, leaving a widow, Caroline Burridge, and seven brothers, viz.: Robert, William .."[6]
Alexander died in 1874 [7] and his wife, Caroline, died in 1907.[8]
