Mary was baptised on 1 May 1793 at Kempston, Bedfordshire, the daughter of George Burridge and Sarah.[1]
She married Thomas Keech at Wootton, Bedfordshire, on 8 Jun 1813.[2]
After Thomas' death in 1833 Mary remarried John Cotton on 25 Dec 1840 at Turvey, Bedfordshire, fathers William Cotton and George Burbidge (sic).[3]
In the 1841 census they were living in Turvey - John Cotton 85 Ag lab; Mary Cotton 48 lace maker, Charles Keech 13 Ag lab; James Keech 10 Ag lab. All born in Beds.[4]
In the 1851 census Mary was a widow living in Turvey - Mary Cotton head widow 59 Char woman born Kempston, Bedfordshire; James Keech son 20 unmarried Tailor journeyman born Turvey.[5]
This was a dog's breakfast, mixing two different Mary's. Mary Burridge married Thomas Keech in 1813 so couldn't have been born in 1810. She remarried to John Cotton in 1840.
Reuben Cotton married Mary Osborne in 1828 in Clifton Reynes, Buckinghamshire.[6] See the 1851 census where Richard Osborne father in law is living with Reuben and Mary Cotton. As Thomas Keech didn't die until 1833 it's pretty obvious that it wasn't his widow who married Reuben Cotton.
