1840 Franklin is born.

1850 Franklin is 10 years old. He and his family are living in Pope County, Arkansas. His mother is listed as the head of the household, and his father is not present. Was she widowed? His listed siblings include: William, Angeline, Phebe, John, Saley Ann, and Elvira.[2]

26 May 1859 Franklin marries Martha Elizabeth Turner in Pope County, Arkansas.[3]

1860 Franklin and his wife, Martha, are living in Gum Log Township, Pope County, Arkansas[4]

20 Jun 1862 Joined 35th Infantry, Co. B of the Arkansas Infantry, Northwest Division, Confederate Army. He mustered in to Camp Johnson on 7 Aug 1862.[5]

bef. 1870 Franklin is reported to have died in the US Civil War. His wife is found in the 1870 Census with an 8-year-old son, John W Burris. They are living with what appears to be her brothers -- William and George Turner.[6]
