However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Basil:

The 1810 Census is for Fleming KY. 2 males under age 10, 2 males 10-15 yrs. 1 male age 45+. 2 female under 10 yrs. 1 female 10-15 yrs. 3 female 16-25 yrs. 1 female 45+

I believe there are two Basil Burriss', one in Fleming, one in Lewis during the same Census year (I cannot remember which year it was). Could the census, which took several months, have counted a person twice ? perhaps if they moved?

The 1840 Census link is for a Basil Burriss of Montgomery, Maryland. He appears in several census records in the same place and is a different person.

Basil Burriss born sometime around 1760-70 (Census records indicate his age varied?) may have had several wives. If his first wife was Elizabeth with Elizabeth b. 1790, Harriet b. 1791, and Ridgeway b. 1798. He could still have married Euphema Dixon in 1808 with Rebecca b. 1811 and Sophia 1813. Then Sophia Rawlings in 1813, Basil Burris Jr -1814. Then married Sally Painter in 1825. Or are there several Basil Burriss contemporaneous? All but the first marriage are recorded in Kentucky. No record on the 1st. Speculation on my part. Also some say he came from Virginia?
