John's will is dated 1768, Oct. 22[2]. Bequests are made to

grandson Jonathan
daughter Sarah Moore
daughter Elizabeth Rose
daughter Mary Baker
daughter Jemima Howell
sons Benjamin and Isaac, bequeathed land in Salem, which they already have, that John had bought from Mach Lon [sic -- should be Mahlon] Kirkbride

The executors are sons, Joseph and James, and witnesses are Silas Rose, Daniel Laning, Abigail Howell. The will was proved March 9, 1774.

It is assumed, but not confirmed, that John was buried in First Presbyterian Church of Ewing Cemetery. He was a founder of the church, being listed along with 16 others in 1709 as receiving the deed transfer, and lived nearby for the rest of his life.[3]
