Ashley Dewey Burt was born on Aug. 11, 1898 to Orsamus Charles Burt and Hattie Mabel Streeter.[1][2]
He married Frances Jennie Baxter, daughter of Thomas Jefferson Baxter and Margaret Ellen "Ella" Jackman on Jun. 14, 1924 in Waterloo, Indiana.[3] They became the parents of three children; Phyllis J., Patricia E., and Ashley Dewey, Jr.
Ashley worked as an assistant treasurer of the Waldorf System Inc. He was a member of the Elliot Church in Newton, a member of the Beth Horn Lodge of Masons, Royal Arch Chapter and the Knights Templar, was past president of the evening division of the Northwestern Business Administration Alumni, past president of the Pi Pau Kappa Fraternity, member of the Massachusetts State Guards Veterans Assn., Society of Mayflower Descendants, Boston Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, Northampton Historical Society and the Plainfield Historical Society.[4]
Ashley died on Aug. 29, 1967 in Plainfield, Massachusetts.[5] He is buried at the Hill Top Cemetery in Plainfield.[6]

He was born in this town on Aug 11, 1898, son of Orsamus and Hattie (Streeter) Dewey. Before his retirement a few years ago, he was assistant treasurer of the Waldorf System Inc, and had recenetly been affiliated with the New England Medical Center. He was a member of the Elliot Church, Newton, a member of the Beth Horn Lodge of Masons, Royal Arch Chapter and the Knights Templar, was past president of the evening division of the Northwestern Business Administration Alumni, past president of the Pi Pau Kappa Fraternity, member of the Massachusetts State Guards Veterans Assn., Society of Mayflower Descendants, Boston Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, Northampton Historical Society and the Plainfield Historical Society. Besides his wife, Frances (Baxter) Burt, he leaves two daughters, a son, 11 grandchildren, a sister, two brothers. The funeral will be held Friday at 2 in Plainfield Congregational Church. Ray Eudsen, former pastor of Elliot Church, and Rev. Sylvester Robertson of Williamsburg will officiate. Burial will be in Hilltop Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Heart Fund. Charles R Dutton funeral home, Northampton, is in charge. There are no calling hours.
