Research Notes

  • On January 11, 1640, Abigail Burt and John Hobell were found guilty of (1) for promising to marry each other although her father had prohibited it several times; and (2) attempting to do the act of fornication, although there was no proof that it was done.[16]John Hobell's name can be found listed on p. 164 of "The Great Migration Directory, Immigrants to New England, 1620-1640; a Concise Compendium" by Robert Charles Anderson (not online). If a WikiTree profile is created for him, he should be considered a part of the Puritan Great Migration Project.
