Elizabeth Burt was born in May 1726 in Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts Bay province, New England. Her father was Ebenezer Burt. Her mother's name was Mary Phelps, b: June 3, 1688 in Northampton, Hampshire Co., Mass.[1][2]
On Nov. 12, 1748 Elizabeth Burt married Timothy Wright, b: b: 14 MAY 1720 in Northampton, Hampshire Co., Massachusetts Bay province. They were most-likely married in Westhampton, Hampshire County, as their marriage was not recorded in Northampton's vital records. The couple lived in Westhampton and had 6 children:[3]
Timothy Wright died on November 30, 1764 in his 45 year. His widow did not remarry until September 11, 1799, when she married Noah Edwards, himself a widower and father of Eli Edwards, husband of her deceased daughter, Dorcas (Wright) Edwards. The 2 families clearly were closely allied. [4]
Elizabeth (Burt) (Wright) Edwards survived Noah Edward's passing in September 1805 at their home in Westfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. She moved back to Westhampton, Hampshire Co., no doubt into the home of one of her children, and died there on January 17, 1815. She was buried next to her 1st husband, as was the custom, at Bridge Street Cemetery, Northampton, Hampshire, Massachusetts, USA.[5] The Inscription on the joint tombstone reads:[6]
