Biography
James Burt, son of Richard Burt and his wife Ann, [1] was baptised on 16 July 1809 in Fordington, Dorset. [1][2]
James married Eleanor Prowse on 11 July 1831 at St. George's, Fordington, Dorset. The couple had 5 children: Louisa Burt, Ann Burt, Elizabeth Burt, Henry Burt and George Burt.[3][4]
On 27 October 1839 James was living in Loudes Mill, Fordington.[5]
On 7 June 1841 James was employed as an Agricultural Labourer.[5][6]
On 7 June 1841 James was living in London Road, Fordington.[6]
On 25 December 1842 James was living in Factory Road, Fordington.[5]
On 30 March 1851 James was living in Mill St., Fordington.[6]
On 30 March 1851 James was employed as a Railway porter.[7]
In 1861 James was living in Gatekeeper's House, East St, Fordington, Dorchester.[8]
In 1861 James was employed as a Railway porter & gatekeeper.[8]
James died in about April 1878 in Dorchester.[9]
James was buried on 19 April 1878 in Fordington Cemetery, Fordington, Dorset. [10]
