Sarah was the only daughter of Thomas Nelsen and his second wife Frances Courtenay (widow of Robert Tucker).[3]

See comments on Frances Courtenay's profile explaining the confusion (Houston/Courtenay), the first of which states: '...The Courtenay vs Houston controversy has been around for a long time. Charles Royster says in his wonderful book, The Fabulous History of the Dismal Swamp Company, "[she] was the ward of Thomas Housden/Houston, who was probably her step-father." DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Robert by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Robert:
see page 70, has a son of Nathaniel & Elizabeth (Carter) Burwell named Robin who married Sarah "only daughter of Scotch Tom Nelson and the widow Tucker, his second wife,..."
according to this Rootsweb entry, this would be the Robert Burwell named as husband of Sarah in the 1745 will of her father, Thomas Nelson (see Nelson-969).
See comments on Frances's profile (aka "the widow Tucker").
