Born and raised in southern England
First 3 years at Hanworth, Middlesex - Sunbury Way near the dairy - BEFORE the M3 arrived all over it!
3 - 15 in West Molesey, attended Sunnyvale Infants, "Mr Farrows" primary in East Molesey and Kingston Grammar for 4 years
Dad's job with the Ordnance Survey moved us to Worcester where I finished my last 3 years of school at King's Worcester.
Set off for Bristol Uni to achieve BSc Maths with Computer Science and never went back (altough mum still lives in Rushwick).
Met my wife Liz at uni and we've now been married quite a while with 2 children and 4 grandchildren.
Worked in computers for ICL, Ultracomp, Fox IT and formed TeamUltra with 2 others, recently retired.
Started researching the family history when we settled in Bracknell, all paper in the early days, focussed on Byard when I found it to be easier than Bush and I inherited the "one-name study" from a lady who had died and her son made contact.
Please also see my site :-
Caleb and Jane (Streeter) Byard were NOT the parents of Robert Byard. They had a son Robert who was born on 23 April, 1727 in England. My Robert Byard's death in Maine was in 1814 and his gravestone shows his age as 82, giving him a birth year of about 1732. Caleb and Jane's children are listed on Familysearch: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JMW4-HGX I wanted to clear this up because I'd want my own descendants to find my actual parents, not take someone else's word for it. I'm researching my Byards on Ancestry dot com. Thanks.
Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, coordinating with others is essential.
I suggest for some of your ancestors: England Project, leaders are Susie MacLeod and Gillian Thomas; or United States History Project, with sub project of Massachusetts Project, leaders- Ellen Smith and Sarah Heiney
Here is the list: Pre-1700 Projects list to review other possibilities.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
