• Bush - "Death of Ammiel Bush - Mr. Ammiel Bush died at his late residence near Shawnee on Sunday evening after a few days illness, aged about 76 years. Mr. Bush was born in Monroe county and was an active, hard working man. By care and frugality he had accumulated a neat little sum of money and was one of Monroe county's well-to-do farmers. But like many others in trying to help along those who needed his assistance he became somewhat involved. He was an elder in the Presbyterian Church of Shawnee, of which he was a member for mnay years and a man respected and loved by all, a good neighbor, kind and indulgent to his family and will be greatly missed in the vicinity in which he resided. He leaves to mourn his loss, a wife and four children, two sons and two daughters. The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, conducted by his pastor, Rev. Donaldosn. Interment in the Shawnee cemetery."
