Biography

Sarah was the paternal great-grandmother of country music legend Maybelle Carter. She was the maternal second great-grandmother of Helen Carter, Anita Carter and June Carter Cash. She was the maternal third great-grandmother of Carlene Carter, Rosey Nix Adams and John Carter Cash.

She was the paternal second great-grandaunt of Loretta Lynn and Crystal Gayle.

Sarah passed away in 1868 and was buried at George W. Addington Cemetery, Scott County, Virginia.
