Hi Elizabeth,

Thanks for signing the Honor Code! I hope you discover as much about your family as I have about mine over the last several years.

Check out the How-to pages for some quick tips on working with both the Wiki pages and our other members. There is some great information on those pages.

Thank you also for adding a GEDCOM. The GEDCOM does not automatically populate your tree. It generates a GEDCOMpare report which you work through, either accepting or rejecting all suggested matches. Once that has been done, you should see [add] buttons for each of the remaining names.

The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.

For those using Chrome, Opera or Firefox browsers, there is a tool that can help with the formatting of profiles which have been created through GEDCOM, so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

If you have questions about how WikiTree works, let me know and I will try to find answers. This can sometimes take a little time, so please be patient. To contact me, please log in to WikiTree and go to your profile. Use the ‘Reply’ link below my comment to be sure I will be notified. You can also click my name to send a private message, or post a comment, on my profile page.

I have been researching my family history for the last 20 years. I also help others with their family history. I enjoy helping people find their ancestors just as much I enjoy finding new information on my own
