According to Ada Mary Butcher's death record (1945) her father was Edward Burcher (sic) and mother was Mary Ann Burcher (sic). Christening Dec 1860 gives father as Edward Butcher and mother as Mary Ann. Her maiden name was Barfoot (Father William Barfoot on Marriage Record). When she married Edward Butcher in Dec 1858 her last name according to the marriage record was Faulkner. About a month after the marriage Ada Mary was born, and she was given the Butcher name. Not clear if Ada was their child or adopted. In her Christening record it states that she was "received" rather than "born"?
