Birdie Butler was born March 2, 1914. She was the daughter of Willie Butler and Malinda Jeffers. Her family lived in Civil District 1, Scott County, Tennessee.[1][2]
Birdie married Harvey Lowe October 31, 1933. In 1940 Birdie, Harvey, and their children Joyce and Jimmy lived in Petros, Civil District 2, Morgan County, Tennessee.[3] Harvey attended seminary and became a Baptist pastor. The family moved to Northwest Indiana in the 1950s. In the 1960s Birdie and Harvey followed Joyce and her husband Albert Wingo to Houston, Texas. The two families enjoyed a farm property near Flatonia, Texas. Their son Jim visited frequently from Indiana with his wife Carolyn and children Raymond and Karen.
After suffering from breast cancer, Birdie passed away August 20, 1975.[4][5] She was buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Houston, Harris County, Texas.[6]
