Biography

Patience Butler was born in Massachusetts on May 1, 1726. She is the daughter of James Butler and Hannah Wilson. [1]

In 1740, Patience, aged about 14 years, nominated her uncle Benjamin Wilson of Bolton to be her guardian.[2]

Patience Butler married James Fife. They had a number of children born in Bolton, Massachusetts.

"Patience, wife of James, died March 3, 1816 age 90" in Berlin, Massachusetts [3] and is buried at Old Burying Ground there. [4]

Patience "Fife" married William Fife Jr on Dec 26, 1786 in Bolton, Massachusetts. [5]

William could not have been a second husband because Patience is called "wife of James" when she died. Date isn't right for a first marriage. Perhaps they had a daughter Patience who married William?
