He had seven siblings, namely: Mary Lois, Louise, Lillian, Eunice, Lavada, Billy Joe, and Jeral Ray.

He died on Dec 12, 2011 in Magee, Simpson, Mississippi, USA (Magee General Hospital; Age at Death: 80).

When he was 18, he married Geneva Jones, daughter of Hollis Willie Ray Jones and Zera Earbelle Wells, on Feb 10, 1950 in Smith County, Mississippi, USA. [1]

Obituary

Leon Butler, 80 of Mt Olive, passed away Monday, December 12, 2011 at Magee General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Mims Mitchell Funeral Home in Magee. Burial will be in Magee City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the funeral home.
Leon enjoyed gardening and working on small engines. He worked for Mid State Construction for several years. Leon hauled pulp wood for many years throughout his life. His favorite outing was going to Eason's Catfish House.
Leon is survived by daughters, Rebecca Butler, Florence, Carol Sills, Brandon, Donna Palenschat, Ocean Springs and Kathy Pourteau, Magee; sons, Jeff Butler, Mendenhall and Bobby Butler, Magee; 20 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sisters, Dean Drennan, Magee and Lavader Shows, Florence and special friends Mary Dollar and Glen Scruggs.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Otis Butler; son, Freddie Butler; granddaughter, Olivia Palenschat; brothers, Jerald Ray Butler, Billy Joe Butler and Bazon Dye; sisters, Lois Nolan, Lilian Hall, Lilly Fairley and Louise Hall. [3]
